Bert P. Stripe Kit Installed

Post by phactory1 »

Hi all,

I purchased a stripe kit from Bert P. last Fall and had them installed last week.

My decal guy had to make a few changes to the Spoiler decals, as the ones supplied seem to be for the European Spoiler. They were shorter along the edges, and the curve didn't quite work.

I even ordered another set from BMW, using my VIN # and the stripes that I got were identical to the ones Bert supplies.

I'm very happy with the outcome!!

Cheers, Phil

The car looks fantastic, especially the wheels. Nice job, and that's the color I wish my car was.

Whatever happened to the art of handpainted pin stripes? We had a guy in high school who made a lot of $$ with a paintbox out of his trunk, a good eye and a steady hand....

Those stripes are too big for hand striping. They could be done with careful masking and an air brush. Not worth the effort or cost. And as Phil said, mine are exact as to the factory stripes

Could be hand painted if it was designed as a reversed stripe.

That's how strips are done nowadays

I wanted to use the Factory stripes, I didn't want pinstripes done. Yes they are CoupeKing Alloys! 7"s in the front an d 8"s in the back. I LOVE them! The wheels along with the stripe kit definitely make the car look much sportier IMHO.

Thanks, Phil

That looks absolutely PERFECT!

Great work there. You need a steady-enough hand to put the stripes on anyway.

Beautiful car.

We all do. Sometimes it sticks, usually easily forgotten at my age.

I read quite a while ago that a member here bought a set from Bert,
installed the stripes & was happy. But, after everything was dry & set,
he added clear nail polish to the forward edge, above the turn signal so
it wouldn't peel away while going 150 mph or there abouts.
I was impressed.
Sweet lookin' Six, Phil!
