Trunk/Bootlid seal glue

Post by wattsmonkey »

I'm about to stick this back on. I've read the posts suggesting silicone sealant, but would be grateful for your thoughts on using a pu product like Sikaflex.

Is there a downside to this? I've used it as a seam sealer lots of times to good effect, and it sure is sticky!

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks,

Rob

Sikaflex is a bit, er, permanent...?

I think if you want to stick it on so that it will come off again you could use something like a contact adhesive (assemble wet) or even.. blu-tack perhaps?

cheers

I don't use anything on mine. It stays in position with no problem and it's nice and easy to clean the channel.

Thanks Ron. Mine spent a considerable amount of time not sitting in the channel at all and has a bit of a fold which prevents it from sitting where it should.
