Not wishing to hijack the other thread made me start this one .
Has anyone fitted the W&N front strut brace onto a series one E12 based car ?
It's an item I intend to purchase but after looking at the photo on their site and checking it against my car it looks like the mounting may interfere with the bracket used for the brake MC reservoir ( RHD car ) . I don't want to move the reservoir so it would be good to speak with someone who has fitted it.
I've sent a question of to W&N asking for confirmation one way or the other .

Good question. I would think it would not work, only because my '80 doesn't have any parts in that area. I am sure the motronic E12 based cars are unique in that regard

Here's a photo of my '80 with a strut bar on it, just for reference:

If you put your head/camera closer to the height of where the bar will be, wouldn't it clear the reservoir?
The picture Olympia gives us is an angle that doesn't show the separation in height well enough.
And, in the picture of the bar, you can see that the bar itself sits on top of it's own mounts, which means a
little more clearance.
I think it'll work, because the reservoir sits lower than the strut tower,,or does it?

Olympia, You have to lower the camera a lot to get a good angled picture and aim toward the firewall so we
can see the spacing. Please post another picture?
We don't know the clearance from the angle you gave us. Very important!

Ps: I like the dome type polished stainless steel nuts. I used the same for my polished aluminum new/old bar.

I'm confident that I'll be able to make one that fits with the reservoir in situ and templates have already been made for the strut top plates.

sorry but there will be a conflict between the brake fluid bottle and the strut bar.

You may want to find a fan shroud to improve the cooling...

Thanks, I considered it, but will find one for cheap sometime. I haven't had cooling issues to this point which is nice.

Maybe you can find one from a parts car here? No one seems to ask for that part.
When you do find one, here's an install tip: You can slide it on open side down & spin it around & bolt it on.
But, I think it would be a two man job?
The way your hood opens you may not need to lose the struts from one end. On mine, I think I would.
Glad you haven't had overheating issues!
