I replaced mine some weeks ago too. Due the steel inlay it's impossible to cut it on spot so it looks quite similar on my sunroof. On one side I got an gap of ~1mm.
As my old seal was in a bad shape the wind noise decreased with the new seal dramatically. I'd recommend to adjust the roof carefully to get the most out of it.

I'd leave it as it is.

The sunroof gasket is more to control wind noise, not keep water out (thus the drain tubes at all four corners of the sunroof cassette). I've never seen a sunroof gasket that fit perfectly other that the ones from the factory. It's fine. Leave it alone.

Is there by chance a tutorial on replacing those? Also, I have had leaks from the sunroof recently in very heavy rain. Is there a maintenance process for the drains?
Thanks
