Where to find Euro rear sidemarker lens?

Post by OregonMTB »

I have a 1985 M635CSI here in the US. One of my rear sidemarkers is cracked. Any ideas for where to find one? Would any Euro E24 sidemarker work?

Hey OregonMTB,

Rear (or front) sidemarkers were not stock and/or fitted from the factory, they were added during the dreaded DOT conversion process #-o

Lord only knows what they used, my advice would be to take a close look at the lenses and see if you can determine the manufacturer :-k

It's possible that they used something readily available at the time, E21 320i assemblies, for instance :-?

That makes sense. Too bad it is not an E12 or other BMW one. I may just have to replace both.

Toyota lights were a common choice for the grey market cars in the 80s. The most popular choice was the lights as used on the early 80s pickup and these can typically be found on ebay at a reasonable cost.
