Fog Lamps Only Working on One Size

Post by TomMan7531 »

Hi All,

So on my 87 635 I have the right side fog lamps working and the left side is not, I have checked the bulbs of course and still no good. I have looked at BMW parts and looks like there is a relay for them but would replacing that help?

Thanks,

Tom.

You can try replacing the relay (K8 iirc) with another from the ‘box. See if that makes any difference. If no change and you’re SURE the bulb is OK, then test for +12v at the connector. If you have that, then it can only be a bad earth.

Tom, I had a similar issue years back, albeit on an '80, not '87, but it was solved by correcting the ground (earth) mounting point :-k

If all else checks out (bulb is good, 12V present, etc.) this is where I would be checking as well [-o<
