Anyone know exact markings to add side repeaters?

My highline has had the wings replaced but no holes for side repeaters so would like to refit them. Would anyone happen to have templates or know how I can measure up to make sure they are fitted correctly?

Thank you

Hello Hoarder, don't have an answer to your question (being USofA based) but as a board moderator, I am going to move your thread to the Exterior forum, where I think you will get a lot more traffic [-o<

I had to take the dimensions from my old wings but, unfortunately, I didn't write them down. Have you not got the old wings?

Wings had been replaced prior to me buying the car. What did you use to cut the holes for repeaters? I need to be carefull I don't damage the wings.

Thanks

I drilled each corner and then used a rotary saw/ grinding wheel to get the required size. Another way is to chain drill it.

I will try to get some measurements from one of my old wings and make some form of templates.

Bad news. I've just been out to one of my storage sheds and although I have 8 wings (5 L/H & 3 R/H) none of them have side repeater holes.

You don't HAVE to fit them to your car. At one stage they were an optional extra #860.

Will grab a spare wing and measure up tomorrow.

I did the same thing for the m restoration with using an '83 wing to replace the rusted-out '86

Is it a requirement that they have them? I would go without if possible.

Per Federal Safety Regulations, All U.S. Cars needed them starting 1968. Most cars manufactured for foreign sale and imported stateside, DOT approved head lights and side markers were added during federalization. I personally would not add them unless directed to by a citation. I would argue the front and rear turn signals are visible from the side as they do wrap around. My 84 745I had a set added during Federalization and they look like shit, I wished they were the small rectangular Euro style or none at all.
