World bumper painted rear rubber top trim

Post by 88m6 »

How does this red rubber strip come off?
REAL OE shows clips?
Is it like window trim? Just pry ?
That thing is stuck
Don't want to rip rubber.
Already marred paint as u can see trying to pry it backward
Thanks

IIRC you'll have to remove the bumper to remove that cover.

The clips hold it in position, just pull evenly along the length to remove.

Ahh rat's !
I was afraid of that. Wasn't even planning on getting to the rear of the car for a while .
Was going to repaint mirror cover so took them apart n will have left over material,so looking for another piece decided on the rear side bumper as it had some minor damage n worn finish on top. Of course to get that out, out comes trunk side panel, jack assy.
Then that last screw under taillight,so out comes tailight to get it out . Now I have taillight on bench and was planning on shadow line it so mind as well take it apart for cleaning and get chrome off to powdered coating all x2.
now I'm looking at that chrome bumper which will need to get cinnabar for correct shadowline, so it seems the whole back of car comes has to come apart ](*,) to get that rubber piece off.
I wasn't planning on all this until repaint in year or two. #-o

I may still just stop at the lights,n repaint black for plate n call it a day .
Couldn't be a simple removal #-o

Thanks for clarifying those clips under there.
