Turned the key in the drivers door of my 1988 635 Csi, something snapped and could no longer open or lock/unlock the door. It appears one of the two ears on the die cast/zamak piece I'll call an escutcheon that surrounds the lock cylinder broke off. Can anyone direct me to a source for either just the escutcheon or the whole assembly which includes the lock warming surround and what I think might be the lock actuating rod/spring and retaining clip?
Bench testing with shows that the lock cylinder is in good shape.
Tried Double 02 in Hayward, CA but they are out.
Thanks in advance for any assistance..

Re: Broken Dr Door cam/escutcheon
Same thing happened to me. Had to lock car by locking the trunk.
I bought the replacement from Schmiedman.com, part number 51-21-1-886-521 for about $120 US plus shipping. It came with a new key.
It is an "interesting" job replacing that sucker. Not a lot of room to work. If you do this, my advice is to take your time and take lots of pictures before and as you go.
Best of luck!
