Driver's side door surround gasket.

Post by tmoretta »

On my U.S. '88 M6 when it is cold I have to lower the driver's side window before closing the door if I want the window to mate in correctly with the upper door gasket. Otherwise, the upper part of the driver's side window remains outside of the gasket causing annoying whistling etc. Should I ignore it/wait for warmer weather or try to source a new door surround gasket? Also, I noticed today that the right side window went up very slowly. Is that also probably a cold related symptom or something more serious?

It’s a good idea to “exercise” all the windows regularly. The non-driver ones (in particular, the rears) tend to get less use and can move slowly or even stop working.
