Fededral safety compliance sticker location

Post by Quietlion79 »

Not sure if that is the right word for it, but I was wondering if someone had a photo or location of the sticker that signifies that the car has passed federal crash and safety test standards. I believe it is on the door? Hood? I think it has the VIN number as well. I am looking to have mine inspected soon and my friend told me that this is a requirement in CA now. I have legal title to my car, but I can't find the sticker. There is a chance I may not need it, as the car has two VIN locations, but I just want to be prepared. I was also told that I might be able to request a letter of compliance from BMW? Any thoughts & advice are appreciated.

Is it one of these? I think it is the 3rd photo, this one looks like it is on the bottom of the driver's door?
