So I'm checking out why I don't have reverse lights, certainly easier to check the bulbs first before getting under the car to swap out the switch in the tranny, although it's very unlikely that both bulbs would be blown
I pull the left hand side lens and notice quite a bit of dirt accumulated, what's that all about
Turns out, there's no gasket there between the lens and housing
While I haven't checked to see if this part is even available yet, I think there's an aftermarket solution, some sort of window sealing gasket or similar, from Lowe's or Home Depot
Lemme know what you guys think, it's just round cross section, about 1/8" ( 3 - 4 mm) in diameter

Re: Rear tail light lens gasket
I used medium density foam weatherstripping, thin stuff, 1/8" if I recall. If you do a lot of removing and replacing of the lens it won't last long, but for a one time apply and leave it, it works pretty well.
You can alternatively use soft durometer O ring material from some place like McMaster-Carr. They sell it by the foot.

The lens to housing grey rubber "spaghetti gasket" is still available. Just ordered 2 sets. Here's an eBay link with part #s, but you can find them a bit cheaper than this if you check around:

You might try the rubber "spline" they use to set screen into screen door frames. IIRC its about the right diameter Home Depot or Ace Hardware should have it

Re: Rear tail light lens gasket
Bobbo, please send your mail to addy and I’ll get some good used ones to you
Mike, these new ones available from eBay, are they a single straight strand or a loop?
I just cleaned up my taillights and found the gaskets on the 82 633 are both continuous loops. Absolute surprise

Re: Rear tail light lens gasket
Gents, thanks for the replies, managed to snag a used one from Andy (Mo Brighta), used, but then, so is the green beast
FWIW, it's not a continuous loop however, although these are known to be a bit on the fragile side and often "disconnect" when removing the lens
Speaking of which, I should get my ass out in the garage and install it
