UK: 635CSi Highline <?4k budget, no restoration projects

Post by Jorge »

Hi all, thought I would throw up a thread on here incase you know of any selling not on the usual sites (ebay, autotrader, pistonheads, carandclassic, gumtree). I am looking to replace my 635 which was unfortunately written off. It was fully mint condition and I have bought the car back meaning I have a full car of spares including wings, retrimmed interior, manual gearbox conversion and full engine/running gear.

Requirements:

UK based 635CSi Highline
Mileage irrelevant
Ideally black, dolphin grey or red
Under ?4000, and I don't mean ?2000 with a need to carry out bodywork
Little to no rust, as said I have replacement clean wings if needs be but sills need to be straight without welding
Interior not to have grey leather, white or tan preferred, but needs the leather dash.
Auto or manual (I can swap it but would prefer manual)

Not too much to ask surely?

Very, very, very few of them about - single figure production IIRC

Exactly, one of the reasons I bought back my E24, which just had the manual swap, so I can convert myself :)

Unfortunately it looks like you've just missed out on this beauty:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-BMW-635- ... 520wt_1396

He had it for sale for approximately ?7k all year last year and then stuck it on ebay twice.

Might be worth sending him a message in case the sale fell through? It looks a bargain from the pics / description..

I know, I had been closely watching that as the insurance unfolded then when I got the cash the auction had already ended :(

Call him anyway, ebay is notorious for non-buyers!

I'm going to be selling my 1989 Highline Motorsport soon. It's Nogaro Silver with black leather recaro electric seats.

I was going to fix a few minor things and ask more like ?5500 for it, but if you wanted to do that, I could drop the price.

Will PM you.

Rules out my car then, not that the body is bad, but it isn't perfect.
