WTB Fuse Panel Lid

Post by clipper47 »

I would like to find a fuse panel lid for a 1985 635CSi. The one on my car is excellent except for the broken latch so a replacement must be in excellent condition.

New from the dealer is about $22

That said: the quality of the plastic used is not what it was on the originals and I have seen them warp after limited time in use. The clip on the originals would snap in short order but the lids did not warp. Pick your flavor.

I just bought one and the lid doesn't want to snap unless you pry the latch down.

Replace the gasket with the old one or use a screw in the provided hole until the new gasket has a chance to settle in.

Like much else today, these lids are probably (badly) made in China.

I've only ever seen one car with an intact clip.

Well I guess I shouldn't feel too bad having recently broken the clip.
