Getrag 280 needed

While rebuilding my trans, the case cracked. It's a Getrag 280 5-speed out of a '88 M6. All I really need is the case. If anyone has a trans with bad gears sitting in a corner of the shop, I'm interested!

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a source for a remanufactured 280...

Oy! Finding a 280 will be a rough one.

Are you sure you can't break it down and weld? That might be your fastest/cheapest way out of your dilemma.

We haven't considered that (welding) as of yet. I'm hoping that one of the few leads I've gotten will bear good news. Thanks for giving an idea though!

I have one with bad gears, case is good but location is Australia so shipping cost could be an issue. Which part do you need?

Give me through the weekend to follow up on a couple leads I have here in the states. After that I wouldn't care if I had to pay shipping overnight from the International Space Station! You've put yourself in position for the savior of the year award!
