Hi Luc: You will likely be hard-pressed to find one of those in decent condition, as the rubber material typically starts to deteriorate pretty quickly. Second, is this for your '88? It will fit, but that style spoiler was originally used on the early E12-based cars, so you might be better off, esthetically, with the later M-Tech spoiler, or even the middle-style rubber spoiler as used on the Euro M635's. Good M-Tech's also are not easy to find, but the middle style can be purchased as a fiberglass reproduction part for under $200. The repro part is also much more durable than the OEM rubber and fastens without drilling any holes in the trunk.

Forgot to add pics of the "middle" style spoiler, used on the E24-based cars before the final M-Tech spoiler appeared.

Note that with this spoiler BMW used a single-piece model badge, as opposed to the multi-piece US badge:

Hey Dean,

This is for the 88. I was looking at some picks online and liked the way the older style foam spoiler looked the best, but it looks like I may have to go with the same one you have on your car.

There's one on eBay (in Poland, no less) in good condition for $460 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-BMW-6-e24-r ... 701783008?

That one seems pretty typical of what these things cost, but usually they're in worse shape. Patience is a virtue, though, and I spent 2 years looking for the one I bought for my car. IMO, the best-looking rear spoiler for the larger-bumper US cars is the M-Tech spoiler, as on the M6's, but you know what they say opinions are worth. Good luck finding something that works for you.

I have an early spoiler - like the one in the ebay listing - on a hennarot trunk lid that I don't have any plans for. Not sure about removing it from the trunk lid or shipping, but maybe we could work something out if you're still interested. It's off of a 1979 635Csi

Thanks Dean! Im going to be real patient. This restoration is going to take some time so I have plenty of it!

Wow, for the councours-conscious guys, that's pretty cool. Anderson is a craftsman and he does great work. I think I'd still rather have the fiberglass version, though. If properly painted, I expect it to be more weather-resistant, and it's lightweight enough to not affect the trunk lifting springs.
