WTB Radiator
Mine was so corroded that when i touched it , it turned to a green dust...
As you may know a new one is not cheap.
Any help on custom fitting something else would not be unwelcome!
Thanks
PS: PN 17111121295, but Im pretty sure there's only one

Re: WTB Radiator
Should i be worried on an '81 that my part number is 17111121295 - which says all 6's to '89 but the part on FCP euro is1 7111468546?dwcains wrote:FCP Euro shows both MT (Behr @ $156) and AT (Nissens @ $170) versions in stock. free shipping and lifetime replacement warranty.
Re: WTB Radiator
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that question, but I'd guess someone at FCP does. Sometimes the aftermarket parts will replace more than one OEM part number.

Re: WTB Radiator
Tazzarti - your car has the early style / design radiator for E24 fitted to 9/82. From 9/82 there was a different design. If you have a manual gearbox your rad part number is 17111121296 if your car was produced prior to 9/82. Check out REALOEM website with your VIN number. Great reference.
I'm guessing your radiator has a metal header tank, not a crossflow radiator with plastic housings and hose outlets on each end. If the tanks are metal on your original radiator but the actual core is toast, you might be able to get a radiator shop to put your metal tanks on a new core. Or, you can try and get a replacement from a BMW dealer. You could also e-mail BMW Classic and see if the part is still available. Sometimes your local BMW dealer will not show as available, but BMW Classic may still show this. [email protected]
Nissens (who is a radiator manufacturer) does not list a radiator for your car. The same with Behr, another radiator manufacturer.
Good luck, my friend!

Re: WTB Radiator
Thanks, I came across a similar answer in a different forum. I have contacted a rad shop and will be getting mine recorded. Sometimes the e12 based 6's are a big hassle :Shenryc wrote:Tazzarti - your car has the early style / design radiator for E24 fitted to 9/82. From 9/82 there was a different design. Re: WTB Radiator
I recently went through this exact issue with my 79 euro. Mine had a metal tank and I had it recored for about $300 Can. One thing I learned is if you have a mt your rad is narrow at the top. ATs have a wider tank to accomodate the trans cooler. So if want to install a used AT rad in your manual car it will work. You just need to move the bracket to the two outside mounting holes. Instead of the two inner mounting holes. I past up three used AT rads looking for the narrower rad. Finally had my orig rad rebuilt and realized the car has mounting holes for both size rads. Of course I would recomend the rebuilt route over used anyways.
