WTB: Seat belt receptacles
Looking for front driver and passenger seat belt receptacles for my '85 with sport seats. I think ones off comfort or sport will fit. Thanks!!
Re: WTB: Seat belt receptacles
Nope - you need the ones from Sport seats - went through this with my car.

Re: WTB: Seat belt receptacles
It's the mount at the bottom which causes the problem - it's bent in the opposite direction on the sports v. comforts. These are the comfort receptacles I had - note how the mount is bent - you want the opposite:
There are various part numbers floating around, too, based on country, year, whether or not the receptacles are wired to a dash warning light, etc. I think the early cars had a totally different design of the latch, so be careful of that.
There's this one on eBay, but it looks pretty rough:

Re: WTB: Seat belt receptacles
Thanks again Dean. That one on eBay is pretty rough. I guess I will stick it out until someone may be able to offer up x2 for sport seats. Mine is a late build '84 for the '85 model year, so it does not have any wiring to it.dwcains wrote:It's the mount at the bottom which causes the problem - it's bent in the opposite direction on the sports v. comforts. Re: WTB: Seat belt receptacles
Z4 - I bought two E24 sport seats in poor condition to salvage 2 seat gears. I disposed of the seats but kept some spare parts including two seat belt receptacles. I tested the receptacles with my own seat belt buckles and they clicked in okay.
The shape of the driver's seat receptacle matches my OEM part perfectly. However, the passenger seat receptacle is not an exact match but does mount in the same direction as my own (see profile photo). The receptacle may work with some adjustment although it could hit the lower plastic seat covering.
1. Driver's seat (left in photos):
Spare seat belt receptacle - Autoflug; AFG 0402725-2; 1919114-075 (Not wired).
My '85 OEM receptacle - Autoflug; AFG 0402867-2; 1919108-176 (7/3/1985 build w/memory sports seats; wired).
2. Passenger seat:
Spare seat belt receptacle - REPA; 13037 1985; BMW 1904836 (Wired).
My '85 OEM part - Autoflug; AFG 0402725-2; 1919114-215 (Wired).
If you think these might work, send me a PM.
