WTB: Cruise control unit for'83 633csi

Post by smtguy »

Real OEM shows it as:
CONTROL UNIT F CRUISE CONTROL 1 09/1982 to 09/1987 P/N: 65711386189
Does anyone have one for sale that they know works?
Thanks,

I have one in my car that I will be parting with later this year, depending on how long you can wait I can send it to you. Asking price will be around 200 euro's for the complete set, ex shipping.

Readily available on Amazon for a tad over $100.

I have a few of unknown condition you can easily try out since you're in SoCal.

Thanks Ralph. Yes, I am in S. CA. near Torrance. The cruise control is the only thing on my car that doesn't work, and has not since I bought the car a year ago. I am only guessing that it could be the control module as I have not been able to figure out how to troubleshoot any of the rest of it. I have a replacement switch which I know to be good, but have not had a chance to install and try it yet. I know the brake and clutch pedal switches are working and adjusted correctly. Any other ideas?
Thank you,

Scott

Hi, Scott - Based on my cruise control troubleshooting and repair, I believe you are on the right path. The black box has an electronic board in it. You most likely will find your problem there- bad bits, broken solder joints, etc. I had my black box overhauled by Programa in Florida. Sent my item to them and got it back quickly. Plugged the repaired unit in and cruise control worked as it should. That was November 2009. Charge was $137.00
C/Control part number for my 1986 E24 was 65711386189. Still working today!
