Got a little, wierd request...

Noticed today that I am missing an endpiece on the quarter panel molding on the left, driver's side.

Looked through all my stock of replacement moldings and of course this is one of the moldings that I am missing. Also not planning on replacing the molding, as it is completely painted to match the shadow line trim. Piece is a separate plastic piece that I assume was glued to the aluminum molding at one moment in time. Location is on the front edge of the quarter panel, just behind the door, for the quarter panel molding. Molding appears the same for all model years and has been superceeded a few times, part #3 in the diagram.

If anybody has a damaged molding or one that's not nice enough to be used, I would like to buy the piece or the complete molding. Please let me know what you have.

Thanks in advance,

Klaus

Klaus, better mention you have an early car as the width of the moldings are different

Yes, mine is an early car. But it looks as if the original molding 51131839133 up to 9/82 was superseded in 5/82 by 51131889487 for use until end of production. Both moldings use the same attachment hardware, which makes me think that the design has to be pretty close in dimensions. Maybe somebody has run into this before?

Klaus I may be wrong but I am very sure the width of the rubber strip is wider. Maybe the chrome itself is the same width. Maybe someone can measure the width of a later trim piece and you can check it against one of yours/

I have that piece if you are interested. the trim itself is decent but it is fairly easy to pop off the ends caps. Pm if interested.
