I’m not ashamed to admit it - I had no idea what a Cherry Switch was.
Now that I’ve Googled it, I’m not much clearer.
Am I correct in assuming this is some sort of modification to the original BMW component? If so, what is the benefit?

"Cherry" is an old hot rodders expression for a perfect example. I.e. "that 32 five window is cherry!"
