RHD M No. 383 for sale

Post by Bayerische »

For auction

http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?itemI ... ctionID=26

Apparently it has corrosion and the mileage is actually 113,000 miles.

The bumper is falling off

The interior is lovely, but tinworm...

Haven't they all

Still the possible discrepancy with the mileage is not funny. We have the definite likelihood of an engine needing a new cam chain, whilst the innocent bidder is thinking that's a job which won't need doing anytime soon :x

I was going to bid on this last time Coy's were going to auction it, but the owner pulled it at the last minute. The blurb is the same, so IF he got an MOT on it last time (which I doubt!), then it will probably not have a 12-month-ticket either.

CAVEAT EMPTOR, my friends

Oh, and by the way. its a November 1986 car and the colour is Zinnober, not Henna. Just another example of how Coy's (who represent themselves as classic car experts) do not seem to know much about the car they are selling :P

According to the build spec, it's got front seat heating, which I have never seen on a UK car.
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

The white 'C' reg M635 that Horsetan looked at years ago and I looked at buying the interior from had black sports full electric, memory and heated seats - I believe the car was scrapped some years ago due to extensive bodywork issues.

Only one I've ever seen with heated seats.

Edit: I have a got a pair of buttons and the loom to fit them to my M635 though :D The buttons are strictly E24 only as they have a horizontal orientation to fit under the stereo aperture - the other cars with heated seats at the time (E28/E30/E32/E34) used similar buttons but with a vertical orientation - although you could slice and rotate the tops I suppose.

Probably # 248.

Surprisingly there were 26 built with the seat heating. #521, that I got all the running gear from, and #524 (Bayerische's last one built), being 2 of them.

Number 383 (D635AEG) is coming up for sale........

The last MOT expired over 4 years ago. I wonder how much TLC it has received in the intervening years? The wheels look rather natty (I'm loving that rear offset). Not sure about the front bumper though.

Agree. It would be great if the dealer replaces the bumper - but I’m not betting on it

Ha ha. Still no MOT. Still with crap front bumper. However, the dealer’s web site doesn’t show it, so maybe it’s been sold on? I wonder how long before it resurfaces :-k
