Was literally just up the street from you for work at the local furniture plant.

Looks like some good stuff. How come you ended up parting this one??

Rust has taken this 635csi to it's grave. Rust all in the floor pans and most of the body panels. Only body panels I could save was both doors and the hood. I did cut off the nose but there is some rust in the nose where it meets the inner fenders. It has never been in a wreck, which is just a shame that it is so rusty. It lived in Europe for 82,xxx kilometers (51K miles) and then was imported into NY.

Assuming this is an E-9 based E-24 I am interested in the door cards and the outside black trim on the doors and fenders. Please contact me at [email protected]. Zip is 89110

Did you mean E12? AFAIK none of the E24s were based on E9s.

Yes you are correct. I found the PM button and sent this message. Please send pix of the door cards. Pretty positive I do want the cards.

Green stripe on the cluster tachometer is rare. It's a euro thing!!

What color is the tint on the windows?

My 83 euro has them and the dr side is damaged from a break-in. Like someone used a pry bar at the top and the glass broke in layers and left a sharp edge.

Has BMW on all panels so I think it's factory.

OP - Did you determine glass tint?

Gas tank

Post by jtownshend »

Is the gas tank in working condition? And rust inside or outside?

Thanks,
Jared

Jared,
Tank is clean on the outside, but I have not looked on the inside. The pump/sending unit spin and lock in like the one in a 2002, not the six bolts like the later e24/e28. If you are still interested let me know, I am going to pull the tank before it goes to the scrapper. Its raining currently so I can look over the next couple for evenings.

Did I send you a pm asking for the chrome/plastic covers on top of the inside handles?
I found out too late that they unscrew.
I'll take both,,,,Greg
