Still waiting......................I think Ralph's suggestion of a new thread is an excellent idea.

BTW, here are a couple of pages I grabbed from a decoder.....

VIN WBAEC8419K3269286
Prod. Date 1989-04-14

VIN WBAEC8410K3269287
Prod. Date 1989-04-10

A prize to the first person who makes the observation...............
9286 produced 14th April
9287 produced 10th April
9288 produced 14th April
9289 produced 13th April
?

Doesn't make much sense, unless everyone just accepts what BMW have to say according to the post a few above, that they were non-sequential and all the cars that came out on April 14th were "the last one built".
Current projects: E21 316 / E24 635i / E24 M635csi x2 / E28 M535i x2 / E30 325i Sport x3 / E32 740i / E34 525tdsT / E34 535i Sport x2 / E34 550i / E36 M3 x4

I am very surprised by this, bearing in mind the “normal” German appetite for accuracy!

LOL! I am the owner of VIN ending in '88 and I would post pictures and/or start a new thread, but I am such a techno moron, I don't know how to do that here, but I do own the last unit. Maybe my friend, cgpiper, can assist me on the new thread thing in the near future. I was parked three cars away from grnshark at Legends last Friday, but, alas, he posted almost all the sharks there, but mine.

What I can share right now is that BMW North America, seems to be using the date the cars leave factory storage as the "production" dates. So for instance, VIN ending with '89 was produced on 4/13/89 but left the factory storage on 4/26/89, "Pearl" (my car) VIN ending with '88, was produced on 4/14/89 and left factory storage on 4/20/89. Hence, the reason BMWNA says that '89 is the last one produced. And BTW the Germans tell me that a certificate is not valid unless it comes from German Archives (what I refer to as the "birth mother"), and even then it has to be signed by a certain three individuals over there. So, the validity of the certificate posted here for '89 is questionable. Perhaps no one wanted '89 because it doesn't have heated seats?

I believe my 89 was produced in Feb 1989 but not certain. Last 4 of my vin is 8908. Just looked at my window sticker and there is a production number below the vin. Mine shows 7956541
