FS 1983 Euro 635 w/59K miles on Bring-a-Trailer

Post by BCMac »

Hey everyone, I am auctioning my 1983 635csi Euro on Bring-a-Trailer. Its a 59k mile car in excellent condition with known ownership history from day one. The car was imported to the Bay Area of California when it was still new, and has zero rust. Check out the auction and feel free to ask questions.

Well, at least we know where it is, for now :(

Sad story about the previous owner as well, but I won't throw a wet blanket on this thread [-X

@BCmac, are you the one that bought the car when it was promoted on BAT last time? I remember seeing BAT referring to a CL ad from a dealer down in CA. That was probably 3 years ago. I know that it went somewhere in the Seattle area at that time.

Beautiful car, hope you enjoyed your time with it. I'm watching the auction, the real action should start in about 30 minutes! GLWS.

Yeah I am the one whi bought three years ago. Looks like I'll be keeping it for a while longer. Wynn did indeed do a great job during his too-brief ownership. Its a special car and I am glad to be keeping it, even if I don't have room for it.

I really surprised the price didn't go higher on such a nice car with such low mileage. 635's don't seem to be selling very well on eBay, either, but most of those are junk. I think maybe buyers see those, can't make the distinction from the good cars, and that's what keeps the prices down.

BTW, that dropping header panel isn't too bad to fix. There are two clips at the rear edge, and the plastic holders separate from the cardboard substrate. I used some Gorilla glue, let it dry overnight, and reinstalled the panel. It's been good for several months now, in the Florida heat, and looks a lot better.

I don't think you should ever sell* that car, it is worth more than my essentially worthless but lovable E24. If I wasn't redoing my interior this week and sitting on a garage worth of spares for my Six I would have loved to buy that car. ](*,)

*(Even trade for an e39 M5? )

Actually I would explore that car some more, because I am convinced that's a special H&B car. I'm stunned no one saw that angle, that this might actually be an Alpina West special conversion. If it has the sways, and the amp, and those suspension elements, etc it's a rare car. Ten grand? Ridiculous. You can't find a straight manual with decent paint, good wheels and good sport seats for that.

Thanks for the kinds words... :D At ten grand, I'd be giving this car away. CThe right people weren't bidding, I guess.

I peered onto the headboard void, but I think Wynn had already been there. There is evidence of a failed glue repair on both tabs. :( if that is indeed the case, it would represent the only thing that Wynn did that didn't hold.. He really put A LOT of effort into this car and is the reason the car is at its current level. Would have enjoyed his company at a meet, thats for sure.

Any idea what the diameter of an Alpina West sway bar is? I am tempted to go mic them right now. The car has no amplifier system.
I need to do some research on Alpina West..

Just got an offer for $15k, but even that seems a litte bit lite given the condition and provinence of the vehicle. I wont mind keeping it, but having three e24s is a bit nutty, even for me. Maybe I outta sell the M and keep the this 83. Have to mull that over. :-k

@ fbobberts: Tell me about this M5 for trade....

I already like you too much to torment you with the e39. =;

Sun at my back...its a 2000, probably 85-90pct visually, nothing broken, but its a driver.
Where it excels is mechanically with no codes, new suspension upgrades and a euro tune.
It drives like it is brand new. I won't lie, it took...$12k in 2 years to get there.
