Indeed. Sorry to read of the changes made, I hope all works out well for you.

I did email you about a potential sale a year or so ago when you were then toying with the idea but I guess it went to junk mail and I have since joined the fold. Best of luck with the auction, will be watching with interest.

Sorry, didn't see an email, or at least not that my aged memory can remember!

I'd rather not sell, but it's a luxury I can't afford at the moment as I'll be embarking on a freelance career soon.

If I can more or less get my money back I'll be happy.

Looks great, I was admiring it earlier on when looking through the ACA Lot List

All the best with the sale

For those of you who like to keep tabs on what our cars make at auction... mine sold on Saturday at ACA for a hammer price of £15,500, which comes to £16,430 with buyer's premium and vat.

Given the mileage and lurking rust I think it was about right.

Cheers

Glad you got a sale Bob but I can't help but think it was a low price when compared to others recently sold?
Surely this must show that the recent eBay spares or repair car that sold for £11,100  was boosted by non genuine bids: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28396
The market for these cars is definitely varied and intriguing!

It's hard to tell what the true values are really, to my mind the eBay car and the £100k car were both complete anomalies. My car looked good in pictures but it will need plenty of rusty metal cutting out if it's to be restored properly, and as it's been to the moon and back I think its mileage will always prevent it from being a really top money car.
The auction company can't tell me but I believe it went to a trader... I just hope it will be fixed up properly.
What will upset me is if it appears on Car and Classic in a week's time carrying a £25k price tag with no remedial work being carried out and be sold on to some poor unsuspecting chap who hasn't done their research and is fooled by a fresh coat of wax!
The bottom line is that it more or less paid me back what it owed me in original purchase price and work over the last 30 months or so. Had some fun and some great drives effectively for free - can't say fairer than that really!

Cheers

It is worse than you predicted Bob,............ and I am afraid this WILL upset you.

Less than a week, a £30,000 asking price.... and probably no wax!!

The seller also purchased this E30 M3 for £34650. It does not have it's original engine.

Now for sale for £60,000 with no mention that it does not have it's original engine.

Dealers misrepresenting cars and manipulating the market really pisses me off!!

It's very difficult not to get angry at the dealers approach.

Market manipulation has the classic car market in the state it's in. Some poor fool is going to pay way over the odds for both of those cars.

I don't know how these people sleep at night.

Robbing ****ers.

Think I need to spread the word via the magazine's social media channels!

Off to have a stiff drink and a lie down.

I know this is resurrecting an absurdly old thread but I just thought I'd let you guys know that after nigh on 11 months the dealer that was selling my old M635CSi has finally sold it.

The new owner got in touch with me via Twitter hoping to have a chin wag about the car. I don't know exactly what he paid for it, but I believe it was a tad over £20k and the dealer has agreed to do remedial work for an MoT in the purchase price – it failed on two counts of rust.

The new owner seems like a good guy and has an E31 so the M6 will be in good company. Once he's taken possession of the car I'll send him over to bigcoupe.com.

Just thought it would be of interest to those who like to keep their eye on current values.

Cheers
