Thanks Tom,

I would love to keep it another 22years and finish my quest to make it new again.
But I have to sell, I still haven't recovered from 2008.

Best,
Jay

Jay, Sorry to hear its a reluctant sale. It looks like a beautiful car. Very well kept and I'm sure maintained perfectly. Who ever gets this will be lucky. I'm sure you'll see a lot of interest in it. GLWS

Cripes, I just looked at the pics, the car looks like its brand new. My 87 635csi has 60K miles and looks old and beat compared to your car! =D>

Congrats on the sale and establishing a watermark.

Is this about what you were expecting for the final hammer price?

My Euro will be on the block coming up somewhat soon so I am watching closely.

Again, congrats.

Jay, Sorry to hear the result of the auction. I thought it would hit 50k . Strange as I've seen a few lately that weren't in the shape or KMs yours was but went for more. It seems the M6 market it still very up and down and not really guaranteed. Mine you the e28 M5 market still seems to be volatile as well. Certainly wasn't for lack of professionally done write up, pics and maintenance.

Sorry you didn't get what you wanted Jay.

This ended pretty close to where I was thinking it would. Especially after how much of a lull there was around the $20k mark, I was worried it may not hit 40k. "88's seem to be more desirable for some reason.

Jay,
Sorry to hear you had to sell that lovely M6. Are you going to keep doing component rebuilds?
For all of us who invest in keeping our cars running, what do you think was your total cash investment (excluding your time, although valuable-its a labor of love) vs the sale proceeds. At least you didn't have to do a glass-out repaint or extensive rust work.

Jay Leno famously noted on one of his videos that the amount invested (and he invests a lot!) is rarely returned in the sale.

Best wishes,
Ken
