FS - UK RHD M635CSi #390

Post by Soperman »

0760390, registered D406HJD, has come up for sale, spotted here on this Car&Classic advert.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C863439

£42k with approx. 99,000 miles.

I believe the current owner bought the car when it had 97k on the clock. £10k spent last year on a "full restoration"(certainly wings and suspension), wonder if the chain had been done already?

It'll be interesting to see how quickly (if) it sells. It appears that asking prices have certainly risen significantly over the past 12 months or so. Does this signify a genuine rise in the values of our cars - or is it mainly speculation :-k

At my age, I remember the days of the cheap E9s. I bought my first 3.0CSi for £1,100 (on the road and MOT'd). At about that time I turned down the offer of a fully restored CSL for £4,000 #-o

So, are E24s, especially the M's going the same way??

Speculation, undoubtedly. Far too many recent examples of it to be anything but.

Further fuelled by the £100k sale of #055 earlier this month, and witnessed by chancers who fail to see that that sale was an anomaly.

D406HJD, #390 has bee re-advertised.

The vendor put the car up for sale in April this year for £42k.

But it has not sold.

So the he has adjusted the price...

.... to £70k.

I'm thinking the prices will probably follow a similar trend to the CSL, also the E24 is sort of the last of its kind before electronics and safety driven styling started upsetting everyone. The prices will jump if the M635 qualifies for one of the prestigious race classes...then people with serious money will have a good reason to buy one..that is when people start fighting over VIN plates 8)

Saw this on ebay today. Did a little detective work (owner was not prepared to divulge details!), I'm pretty sure its the same car.............

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292968581352?ul_noapp=true

Somewhat surprised that it has not sold by now?

I heard back from the seller who confirmed that that it is the same car as he apparently watches this forum. Rather strange he hasn’t posted on here as he could well have sold it easier to like-minded enthusiasts.

Apparently, I am not a “serious buyer” as I failed to “pick up the ‘phone”. Little does he know😉

Hello all, this is my car. If anyone is interested in speaking with me, I am happy to answer any questions.

I don't know why it's strange that I haven't posted here, I'm marketing the car to the widest audience possible, why would I market it to people who already own one?

Pod, when you initially contacted me you asked me for sensitive information about my car, I don't know you, so I asked you to please call me so we could have a chat... I'm still waiting by my phone for your call. Instead, you'd rather come on here and talk about me and my car and tell everyone what a serious chap you are when you're clearly not.

All the best. Nick.

Looks like he sold it through the trade in the end. I would imagine he got far less than he expected😉

Its been on ebay on-and-off now for months. Currently reduced to £30k and has been for a couple of weeks or so.

I wonder if the seller (Dominic) is the same as "nicklondon" who used to post on this board? If so, he appears to be stuck with the car. I wonder what's wrong with it? It looks OK from the photographs posted and he previously said the chain etc had been done..........
