UK M635CSi #500 fs on eBay

Can’t copy eBay ad as on mobile ‘phone.

For sale as “buy it now” for £100k. Sounds a bit expensive with 153k on the clock, but apparently has been restored a few years ago.
Anybody know the car? Thoughts?

£100k, really? how are these worth anywhere near that? are prices being artificially increased? it' been restored too, I thought everyone was crazy about originality these days..

The owner first introduced himself and this car here on the forum in 2009.....

As for the absurd figure of £100k, I cannot believe for a moment that he's genuinely looking to acheive that. Presumably that figure is just an attention grabber.

I read that old thread with interest. Really miss Horsetan’s postings!

I wonder is this the car. Posted on ML's facebook page during the week. Apparently it will be for sale soon with them.

The ad does say that the car is being driven down to a marque specialist in Sussex for inspection and discussion about sale.

Good spot. Too coincidental to be anything else, surely.

I note also that the owner put this car up for sale just over two years ago - again on eBay. Asking price then was £25k.

Having looked at its MOT history, only some 7,000 miles in the past 12 years, one can see that it has suffered the “usual” E24 problems. Many, probably due to lack of use and of course the high mileage. I can only surmise that it must have had substantial ££££s spent if the owner thinks its worth £100k. Let’s see if ML front it and at what price. That should tell us all we need to know.

Well, the ebay listing ended about a fortnight ago. No sign of the car up for sale with ML, so possibly they have it in their workshop for a spruce up :-k

.......and it’s still with them! I wonder why it hasn’t sold immediately? Obviously the high mileage doesn’t help, but it makes me wonder if there is anything else wrong with it (why didn’t ML front it?). Has anybody been to see it?

#500 is back up for sale.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1226426

Looks nice. But I cannot help but wonder if £48k is an ambitious figure for a 153k mile car.

It makes the similarly priced #250, with a 100,000 fewer miles, seem a relative bargain, but then that car has remained unsold and on the market for what seems an eternity.

Or this Highline for a tad under £35k from "Old Colonel" with 150k on the clock?

Hey Look! It's back again, this time for £34,995 with a dealer in Brentwood, Essex - so its not moved very far over the past few years!

It has driven 14 miles since the last MOT in May 2020, which has now expired.

Showing 9 previous owners and will be sold with a full MOT & 3 months warranty, or so they say................

Back yet again. On eBay via bonhamcarsonline for auction. About another 1300 miles put on it since I last posted.

Unsold @ £24500, auction ended this evening. I wonder when we’ll hear about this example again🤔

Went back up on eBay by ‘Bonhamcarsonline’ asking £30k. Auction was cancelled yesterday as ‘no longer available’, so I guess someone must have forked out somewhat less than that amount for it. Waiting to see how long before it resurfaces ………
