1979 635csi Euro M90 5 Spd -must sell-MAKE OFFER

Post by ldc » Fri Sep 21, 2018 1:23 am

I purchased this out of Reno not very long ago (3 months). Car has m90 with overdrive 5spd manual. I started taking pictures today and have a cold start video. I will get a driving video when the weather clears up. odometer shows 95K. seats need new leather. no a/c car has manual sunroof. all windows work. i have not found any rust but there is a little paint starting to bubble behind the front wheel wells and near the rear license plate. left rear caliper drags a little. comes with a nice set of period correct enki wheels and a cheap car cover. I was told the heat and fan works but I haven't tried it. This car lived most if not all of its life in california and nevada and is in very good shape. new exhaust and bilsteins

I will try to answer any questions as best I can - if you want pictures or video of anything just let me know.

I have 8K invested and I would like to get that back if possible but make me an offer. I am starting a new business and I will not have the time or money to get this car where I wanted so I am gonna try to find someone who can. Make an offer.

Very nice for the year. One thing I notice in the pics is the shifter knob. I have the same one in mine. It was in the 1st bimmer I bought back around '95. And I have kept it and used it in all 5 manuals I've had since. Don't see this style hardly anymore.

A couple more pics. The paint has been resprayed and it is not the best job - looks pretty good in these pics and from 15'......but up close you can tell. I have some old sheep skin covers to put over the leather until you get it redone.

all warmed up idle video https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qg3QcpomAcBaFwKdA

please let me know if you have any questions - I will get pictures of anything you want to see. I don't have a lift but I am thinking of mounting the other wheels so I can try to get good under car pictures at that time or I can crawl under there too if I have to.

I have a set of wheels in the picture that will go with the car. which do you like better?

Nice looking car; pretty special if it's rust-free. What is the name of that color?

Interesting that it has the US-spec front turn signal lenses; maybe that was part of the federalization process when it was imported.

The wheels on the car look OK but IMO as these cars age they look more appropriate with period-correct wheels, similar to the ones in your added pic.

Rare car, rarer color, rare condition- would be jumping right on this thing if I didn't already have the very same car in Hennarot. Looks like you have US corner lights- odd to see on a euro. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks

Cross hatch wheels to me, always look better, even though they are more ubiquitous.

just went out to start it and it refused to start. anybody want to make an offer. I am not able to work on it myself. ](*,)

there isn't anyone in my small town that would have a clue....I made a mistake buying this.

It seems like I could do better just selling off the pieces - euro bumpers, 5 spd, m90, rust free body parts,

I believe the color is a factory Arktisblu? My spelling might be off. Nice Euro!
Did the car not turn over, or is it the battery?

what do you know - I cleaned the battery terminals and tightened the ground up and she lives again. I do think I should sell this car to someone who can properly care for it though. I don't have enough time and/or money to focus on this.

anybody interested?

I suppose I could park it in the garage and sit on it for 10 years.

I'm surprised no one has jumped on this. Early cars are pretty special

Cool car, although I already have one :)

Shame it doesn't have the dogleg or Recaro's but it would still be a nice car for somebody.

I’m also very interested in this car. Sport seats and a dogleg would be ideal but please let me know if it is available. Shoot me a PM and I’ll give you my cell.
