He read me the # after I told him where on the engine bulkhead he could find it.

I have no doubt that it is #186, now that you have confirmation. It's just that I was thrown by the vendor's reference in the eBay advert to the car being '88 or '89 G plate, which would make it a much later car.

Nice to hear from you - and I hope your recovery is going as well as can be expected..
