A product of BMW's Motorsport department, the M635CSi version arrived in 1984. Its engine was a development of the M1 supercar's 3.5-liter, 24-valve, six-cylinder unit producing 286bhp, the increased power necessitating chassis improvements which included altered weight distribution, revised suspension, bigger brakes and a limited-slip differential.

HISTORY:
 IMPORTED BY HENRY MANN AND PASSED USA CUSTOMS ON 9/26/85
 PASSED USA EMISSIONS ON 11/8/85
 THE CAR WAS ORDERED/PURCHASED BY A M. FUCHS OF OMAHA, NEBRASKA WHO OWNED THE CAR UNTIL 9/30/1993 WHEN HE TRADED THE CAR IN TO CLASSIC AUTO SALES IN OMAHA, NB
 FUCHS JOINED THE M REGISTRY ON 2/1986 AND PERIODIC ISSUES OF THE REGISTER SUBSCRIPTION (PROVIDED WITH THE SALE) RUN THROUGH SECOND OWNERSHIP UNTIL 3/1999
 THE CAR WAS ACQUIRED BY BAUER MOTORS OF OKLAHOMA CITY ON 4/14/1994 AND PURCHASED BY R. OHMS OF NORMAN OKLAHOMA IN 1994
 THE CAR WAS IN GARAGE STORAGE FROM 4/1997 - 8/2011
 THE CURRENT OWNER ACQUIRED THE CAR FROM R. OHMS ON 8/25/2011 AND REGISTERED ON M-REGISTRY
 THE CAR HAD 74,355 ORIGINAL MILES WHEN ACQUIRED BY THE SELLER

The owner is selling part of a BMW/Jaguar collection to restore a recently acquired 1974 E9 3.0cs and go racing in a recently acquired Datsun 1600.

A true garage find, the car sat untouched for nearly 14-years – thereby preserving the original paint and interior. Well maintained, a large file of paperwork and receipts document the original importing of the car through emissions/customs through ongoing regular maintenance

A 2017 Carfax records an accident-free history back to original owner in Nebraska.

This M635CSi is distinguished with a deep lower front valance (the front valance is original and shows normal wear) and a black decklid spoiler with Motorsport badging. This European-spec import wears the original slim and lightweight chrome (Euro) bumpers. There is a very slight imperfection to the rear bumper behind on the driver’s side and a slight imperfection on the passage rear quarter panel - both incurred by the second owner.
The original three-piece BBS RS mesh wheels are in superb condition and are metric-sized and wear 240/45 Michelin TRX tires in marginal condition. A new set of Continental tires and BBS wheels are included in the sale.

Headlights feature washers and aim control. The suspension features Bilstein struts front and rear.
The interior is trimmed in Anthracite Buffalo leather over manually-adjustable factory Recaro sport seats and includes a power sunroof and Pioneer stereo with a 6-disc changer. A fire extinguisher is mounted in the rear bonnet and is included in the sale.

The 3.5L M88/3 inline-six features Bosch engine management and was rated at 286 horsepower. A 5-speed manual transmission sends power through a limited-slip differential.

Exterior the paint is absolutely beautiful and the front valence has the normal rock chips expected for the mileage. The body is straight body and has no rust whatsoever with solid floors (as it was always garage kept and never driven in harsh weather).

The dash shows no indications of any cracks. For the most part this car has remained as it appeared new in the showroom.
The odometer shows just under 75k miles, including just 400+ driven by the current owner in 9-years of ownership.

All trunk and rubber door seals are in excellent condition.

A document archive contains owner’s books and manuals, micro-fiche, original M-Registry newsletters and correspondence from 1985 – 1993, import and emissions documents, and service records from the late-1980s to recently.

Purchased as part of a BMW and Jaguar collection this restoration project / investment has been properly stored and driven only 400+ miles by the current owner.

The original catalytic converter added to meet USA emissions - was removed to enhance performance and is provided in the sale.

Very nice looking car. More pics please. Strange to see the owner has only driven it 400 miles in 9 years. Thats a lot of willpower. I think I'd be putting on 400 miles a week. Resale value be damned

Hi gents - first Horn - apologies for that long post but wanted to be as informative/transparent as possible.

To the low driving miles Zinn - it for sure wasn't easy as she is just such a complete blast to drive (took her out yesterday) but I knew I had something pretty special and just drove around town to keep her fit - and luckily - had/have other cars/bikes to drive/ride so that helped.

Per photos - I can take some this weekend - or if you want to wait - I'm having it professionally shot for BaT next week. Just let me know.

Best,
Tom

PS - Here's my 89 I just sold (and already regret doing so) - and - the reasons I'm selling this M - just bought / going to start racing CVAR/ SVRA in this Datsun 1600 this fall and want to finish the resto on my E9 (will be my daily driver when done. Then there's the Jaguars.... don't ask LOL!
