I believe you'll find the e23 745 caliper are wider than the early e12,e24 as thay have a spacer in between the caliper halves.

Not so. The early 4 pot calipers also have a spacer to accommodate the vented rotors I have rebuilt several pair and this is correct. The question is if
the bolt holes match to the mounting on the strutsas the E3/E12 and E23 have different part number

E23/745 spacer is wider.

So, would 745 calipers fit early E24 / E12 and offer possibility to use thicker rotors?
