Listed as a 1990 model year, is that for real :-k

Does look like a nice example and fairly represented, I especially like the statement about the condition under the bonnet as "grubby" #-o

There probably were a very few UK cars registered in 1990, but all would have been built no later than early 1989.

At it's current auction bid of £7k it's looks quite an attractive buy.

Cars last made Feb/Mar '89. but due the price, approx. £42,000, the dealers had problems shifting them.

The "G" reg. ran from 01/08/89 to 31/07/90. There are at least 3 "H" registered cars (from 01/08/90 to 31/07/91).

The M635 was approx. £50,000 at the time and the dealers had even more problems shifting them.

Ron, I think you’ll find that the last sixteen Highlines left the assembly line in April 1989.

Is this regarded as a pretty accurate source of VIN data?

Chassis nos 8188751 to 8188766 (ie 16 x RHD European 635 CSi) are shown in OEM as manufactured in April 1989 (ie exactly as suggested above). The last RHD M635, chassis No 0760524, is shown as manufactured in Feb 1989.

You are quite correct Paul. Must be the "age thing" getting to me.](*,)

Thanks for the confirmation Phil. You've quoted "0760254" for the last M should be "0760524".

It is alive and well and owned by "Bayerische" in Eire.

This very late Highline is on ebay at the moment. If I didn't have so many projects, I might have been tempted! One of the "G" registration cars, first registered 08/89. Beware of the mileage though, its at least 175k - and probably more.....

Does anybody recognise it?

Could something that bad really be restored to anything like it's former glory? What kind of time and money would it take?

I don’t see anything much wrong with it. I’d take it on in a heartbeat if I didn’t have so many other projects😉

Sold for £3300. I wonder if it’ll turn up on this board 🤔
