1985 M635CSi - my Great White Shark

Post by sharkfan »

Hi,

this is my 1985 M635CSi in Alpine White with Taurus Red leather. I've had it for about 8 months and it's an absolute dream to drive. Hope you approve.

Mmm, guess I'm lucky to have a pair, until they both start playing up

The blue 635 I've had for about seven years now, and I've just finished a small package of work to bring it closer to scratch - there's always bits to do, as with any six - but I'm pretty pleased with the pair of them. The 635 has just had 15 inch x-spokes re-fitted today as the 415 TRX's (well, two of them) have had their time.

I was hoping to buy some 17's but the desperate need for a holiday has taken precedence.........so the 17's will have to wait until birthday or Christmas......or not at all......I'm really impressed with the smooth ride on the 15's........maybe I'm getting old.

The M6 was bought on a chance opportunity following a re-shuffle of cars after my wife changed job.....I deliberately looked for a chrome model - I know it's each to their own, and mine is the chrome. I'm still mulling over clear lenses though............opinions ???

But it can't be just the front lenses, you'd have to follow with the side repeaters and then of course the rear lenses.........and that's before I decide which car..........and I suspect the Alpine White M6 would look a little pale all over then...........

Problems, problems..........

Nice shark! Which color do your seats have? Is it brown (original seats?).

Taurus Red leather manual sports seats, and I've since fitted rear headrests :D

I did think of fitting black leather seats, as the very dark red colour of the Taurus Red can sometimes appear a little brownish, but after seeing a white M6 with black leather just last weekend I'm gonna stick with it as it is - the white and black combo just looked a little bland for me personally.

I've Seen Kevins cars and they are both loverly. Was down in Yorkshire and so we hooked up. Had a go down the runway and generally spent a few hours talking about cars.

Sharkfan is definantly not shy of using that right foot and lets just say it's the fastest i have been in any car. Of cource we were on a private road. The Honda Civic type R also on the private road was found wanting big time.

The TVR he has is not bad either and the house is a beauty. Just my type of thing.

I liked the look of it rather than the plain wall of white; I haven't (yet) done it to the 635CSi which also has the MTec front spoiler on it - I still might though.

I'll try and pop up some more pics after bumping this ancient thread.

Meh, I remain unconvinced. What interiors have you guys got in your Alpinweiß E24 M635's?

Sold mine many years ago and I believe it's rotting away in a garden somewhere.

It had a black manual sport seat interior.

So a few years I bought some biege rear headrests and had them re-coloured Taurus Red by a professional; I wasn't prepared to have a go at something so visible myself.

UK probably but I can't remember as I've had them for years.

Anyway, on with some pics; it used to get cold in Yorkshire....

Somewhere along the way I fitted a cold air intake...

And fitted the uber-rare-in-Europe rear air cooler....

I 'think' it's the only one fitted to a UK car and of course the air-con isn't plumbed but the rest all works quite well and looks good.

I've had the car 11 years this year and I'll have it for the next seventeen years at which time I will pass it, as promised, to my Daughter on her 25th Birthday.
