My 4100 mile Scandinavian Adventure in a 6er

Post by nick88highline »

After last year's 4100 mile African adventure, I decided another 2 week 4100 mile adventure going North was appropriate.
Crossing the North Sea from Harwich in Essex, England to the Hook of Holland in the The Netherlands and driving up through Germany and Denmark into Sweden, through Stockholm and Uppsala all the way to Jokkmokk which is just north of the arctic circle. Popped into Finland for lunch, visited Trondheim, Geiranger and Oslo in Norway and then back down to Gothenburg.

Old meets new in Odense, Denmark:

Crossing over to Sweden on the Øresund bridge:

Coming into Stockholm:

Well it is Sweden:

Driving North from Umeå, Sweden:

In Tornio, Finland:

Made it to the Arctic Circle in Sweden:

Driving towards to Fjords in Norway:

On the way to Oslo from Geiranger I came across an HE-111 (not a real one) in a village called Grotli, which was used as a film prop in 'Into The White', based on a true story:

Had a great time in Scandinavia and I would suggest you all go and visit soon! Stayed in some great hotels, ate some great food, saw some amazing scenary, marvelled at the fantastic design and architecture and enjoyed everyone's welcoming nature.
The car performed flawlessly and was made to tackle gravel roads, high speeds and extremely tight underground car parks.
The car used around 150 Imperial Gallons of petrol for the 4100 journey, and about half a litre of Mobil 1 0W-40, which isn't too bad.
This was the sort of adventure the E24 was made for!

Thanx for sharing your trip with us.
I especially like your E24 at the 'V' of the mountains in Norway.
The Swedish fog across the highway might be one to blow up?
Oh, and, how fast were you going on the Autobahn??
Again, thanx,,,,Greg

Thanks all!
Yes, the Swedish fog (as we thought, although it turned out to be smoke) is a nice shot!

On the Autobahn I was up to an indicated 120mph, but that is too fast for me, so I kept between 90-100mph. You have to watch out for the real 'hard-chargers' who will routinely be driving well over 120mph.
