My Euro 635 on Dinan 3 piece, new member!

Post by Calypso5 »

Hey guys, long time lurker, first intro post. This is my Polaris over Schwarz Euro 84' 635csi 5-speed. I've had her for a few years now, took some classic car insurence photos and figured I'd share. Loving the wealth of knowledge and no BS attitude from members.

Thanks guys, and yea it's an e34. She's a Calypsorot on Schwarz 95 540 6 speed that I've restored over the last 9 years. They only built 7 of these in my color combo, pretty rare bird. I've replaced just about everything on this thing haha. V8 6 speed manual with a lightweight flywheel and LSD rear end will put a smile on my face when I'm feeling down haha.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

Post by GRNSHRK »

Holy shit batman, that is one helluva a sweet 5er

Love the color combo, Calyspo has to be one of the nicest out there, especially over the black leather =D>

Love the lighting, aerodynamic additions, wheels (curious about the ones that aren't MP's :-k ) you must be one proud papa 8)

BMW187 (it's Ken, right? I hate it when I forget names #-o ) you are correct and we are long overdue for some sorta meet and greet :-?

Feel like trying to put something together =D>

Maybe something simple like hitting one of the South Bay BMW CCA GGC cars & coffee events

Lemme and the board know if you wanna throw something together

Calypso, my apologies for highjacking your thread

How do you like your BC coilovers? I am assembling the parts to rebuild my 1973 2002. Think those BC's are better than some Bilstein HD's with H&R springs? What's the price tag? Can I get some for an old school 02?

That 5er is just booootiful!

Your 6er looks to be in fantastic shape the wheels are a very nice look on there.

Welcome to the forum!

Wheels

Post by Calypso5 »

The wheels seen on the 635 and 540 are 17" Dinan DP Enduros. Very rare in 17" came on full Dinan packaged cars including the Dinan 850csi twin turbo's back in the day. You could also purchase them seperatly at that time for $4000... True 3 piece and period correct, they aren't for everyone but I love them to death. From my research it seems there are only 50 or so sets made.

As far as the BC Coilovers on the e34, I love them. They perform great out on the track and on the street, 30 way adjustable dampers with full shock travel at all heights. Come with camber plates too, for $1000 you can't go wrong.

Haha, no business out of this one. Its the home garage my wife and I just built, personal toy storage and play area. I'm a master Volvo Tech and certified car nut if you can't tell. I eat sleep and breathe euro, BMW being my favorite, Volvo a close second and Toyota, Honda runners up... If it has wheels and makes noise I'm a fan. Here are some shots of the garage since a few PM's have come in about it :D

AND YES... I get dirty in here as well, however this is the only picture I have lmao

I also have a set of style 5's I run on the 6, but I'm in the middle of re-finishing them. Here's a shot before the make over.

Love the powder coated intake manifold and Aluminum radiator as well =D>

Curious what your plans are for the rest of the intake, and what you did or are planning for the exhaust :-k

Great work on a great example
