Sixers All,
I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your advice…it's truly helped me focus on not only the value but the anticipated repairs necessary -- I'm taking all your suggestions to heart. I'm going to send one last batch of pictures of the underside. I've looked high and low through the crevices and this car spent so little time on the road that I truly believe corrosion isn't an issue. Of course dry rot, lack of use and ultra violet have done what the corrosion gremlins didn't. That said…I think I've got a sound chassis. The underside pictures I'm about to send hopefully give you enough detail to speak up if you see anything of concern.
Dean, based on your comment and considering that this is a M series vehicle (of many different parts)….am I safe to say that if the purchase price was in the 5-7 Grand range as suggested by another member that it would be a reasonable valuation of the car?

BTW…the current owner admitted to putting the exhaust system on with a Cat…this is at least the 3rd exhaust system I'd say from the evidence.

Re: Evaluating the M635CSi for purchase
The issue with the purchase of an M-car is quite different than a "regular" 635, simply because the M635 is so much more rare and thus much more valuable. I surely wouldn't buy a 635 in that shape at any price, but I'd snap up that (any non-rusty) M635 for $5-7K in a heartbeat - even if I just had to drop it in storage for a while. The other thing is, and I think I've already mentioned this, is that the car needs to be restored correctly if it is to have any real value in the future, and I feel the same is true with a 635, too. The only mods/updates I've done to my car are completely reversible, and I've kept all the original parts.

I Bought Her
OK...so...it's been a pretty fast year and I've not said much but I bought the car! It took quite a bit to sort out the woes of why she would not start. After working our way from the gas tank to the injectors, battery to spark plugs and sorting out the air methodology though the head with the unusual cover (more on that later) we finally came up with the SECOND crankshaft sensor that was giving us problems. Once that was sorted out she purred. Well....kind of. It's been a full year of "little things" but she starts and runs very nicely now. So...baby needs new shoes.
She is wearing a set of very tired 245/50 ZR16 BF Goodrich G Force T/A's and I'm looking for recommendations for a proper tire.

You want 225/50/16 tires for proper fitment and speedo readings.
