1981 Euro

Post by G03rt2 »

The color is Chestnut red metallic. The wheels are Alpina replicas (made by a Swiss company called Maxilite). It's lowered on H&R springs with Bilstein shocks. 5 speed with a 1989 M30B35 mototronic swap. And I like it very much.

I like it too. That's a stunning colour. More pics please.

The black accenting at the lights and windscreen looks good with that pinstripe and the black interior.

Lovely car I wish you much enjoyment with it.
My all time favourite wheel style and size for the E24 too.

It was a BMW and Porsche shop out in Sacramento. I don't have the paper work handy to say who exactly. I'll take a picture of the engine bay, the motor barely fits front to back, and as a result has an electric fan for the radiator.

The color is a bit polarizing. I've never heard people say they hate it but I've heard "that's an interesting color." It's growing on me and can look quite different depending on the lighting. I'm not a fan of the black painted trim, but I'm stuck with it for now, and hoping it will grow on me too.

As far as the wheels, I really like the look tscultz has with the gold mesh/lace and I'll be keeping an eye out for the right set. The car came with some BBS gold mesh wheels, but they just didn't fit the bill.

Please contact me when you're ready to sell. I have an 81 E12 528i in that color and I love it. Make me very happy to have both 81 models in that color and yours is in very nice shape.

Interior pics please. I spy Recaros. Such a tease

That color is just stunning. It looks like a freshly minted penny.

I appreciate the kind words everybody. I'll take more pictures, I promise. Even though it's May, it's still technically spring in Wisconsin, and the car hasn't been out often enough. Everytime it is I hear some new rattle or noise that I try and track down and then end up disabling the car for days until I put it back together.
