Finally Time to hit the road..
After 19 months of ownership, and patiently waiting for my panel beaters to do simple "clean up" panel work, i finally managed to get my old girl registered and ready to show it off..

She looks fantastic. What is it about these cars that just seems to eat up time ? Do you have pictures of your E4 M5 ? I have the S38B36 in my E24 now. Beautiful engine.

Re: Finally Time to hit the road..
Wow, you have a nice stable ! Is she a 3.6 or 3.8 ?
This engine would be familiar to you, but maybe not the installation

Re: Finally Time to hit the road..
They actually have a 3.5.... According to my scores, there was only ONE 3.8 sold in Australia. It was sent over for evaluation, in preparation to offer to the Oz market, But the decision was made not to offer them here, so the one and only was sold off... And although i have never seen it, it is supposedly alive and well and residing somewhere here in Melbourne. There are a couple of other 3.8's around, but they are all private imports from the UK.

Re: Finally Time to hit the road..
Looking very nice, nut
Curious what your "panel beaters" were doing for 19 months, however
Think you've got a few "cousins" around, appears that we have our share of Bronzit 6ers these days

Re: Finally Time to hit the road..
It was actually with the panel beaters for about 10 months. The people i use is a private, Father and son backyard business, just the two of them. They are both "old school" which i am happy with. They are, however, painfully slow. All that was done was to redo the front and rear Bars, (including straightening and re-chromeing the parts) a small panel repair on the LHS just in front of the rear wheel, redo the stone guard and repaint under the rear bar, and repair a small dint (obviously a hoist mishap from previous owner) and repaint the black sills on both sides. Weeks would go by with little or no progress, after 8 months i started to yell, and we finally got it finished.. When i gave it to them i knew it would be a slow process, but worth it in the end. Luckily i had plenty of other car jobs to do while i waited..
