The run from Westport to Achill Sound via Newport and Mulrany is a very good one, followed immediately by the run from Achill Sound to the strand at Keem Bay ...... near where I discovered a Trabant P601S estate sitting abandoned in a field!!Bayerische wrote:....I wiil have to take her for a blast over to the west coast, some proper driving roads there.
Also the run from Westport to Donegal Town via Crossmolina, Ballina, Sligo, Bundoran, Ballyshannon is just grand
In Co. Clare, the hairpin(s) above Ballyvaughan are entertaining in the winter!

Thanks for posting Lucky6, it looks like a very nice car. I wonder how much of a premium will be paid for its "last one" status or will it go for the same money as a normal 97000 mile six in good condition. I know when I was buying my car the fact that it was the last M6 it had no bearing on the price.Lucky6 wrote:http://www.moslanders.com/635csi.htm

After 5 months of waiting, I finally received my electric head rest motor, worm drive and assembly. The part is now being remanufactured by BMW's supplier due to demand and had been on back order in Germany til now. This is good news for anyone with electric seats as it is a common weak point. I will fit it in to the car over the weekend, it looks fairly straight forward.
I tried the headrest fix that is posted on this site but just could not get it to work. The part comes as one complete unit and is 195euro/?140stg.

During the limited miles that I have driven in my six she has performed brilliantly and has not missed a beat. There were however, some items that did need attending to.
The first was a new viscous coupling as the temp gauge was showing the engine to be getting hot when the car was stopped with the engine idling. A quick test of the coupling showed it to be knackered.
The second thing, which was purly cosmetic in nature, was my lower seatbelt connections. The red buttons had turned a pale pink colour (which happens to all sixes) and looked tatty. I know some of you may see this as being a touch anal, but as the rest of the car is in such good order, I felt the seatbelts were letting the car down. I ordered all of the bits from my local BMW dealer with a 10% discount for being a BMWCC member.
I have had the parts in the boot (trunk) of the car for a few weeks now but only got round to fitting them today and yesterday. The engine temp is now fine at idle and the new seatbelts make a huge difference on the overall appearance of the interior.
