Plastic cover from the front air dam.

Post by robm »

The other day I noticed to my dismay that one of the two plastic covers (just beside the fog lights) was missing. The victim of my suspension upgrade to Bilstiens and Eibachs and (I suspect) a good bump from a steep driveway entrance.

My 635 is an '88 black on black.

Does anyone out there know were I can get a replacement part? I'm not having much luck on line and have no idea what this is called or even why it is detachable. Any help or even insight as the the name or part number would be much appreciated.

thanks,
Rob

It's detachable to allow the towing eye to be screwed in and should be retained by two wee plastic straps.

Perhaps replace the straps when replacing the cover? Numbers 4 and 6

Have just recently ordered one direct from BMW. They are still available, but come painted in grey primer ready for painting. They clip in place and are retained by plastic straps when using the towing eye.
Think you will wait along time for a s/h black one to turn up.

Wow ?20.00 and the wrong colour !!

They are only ?17.82 plus VAT from BMW and my local dealer gives me a 20% discount on top of that. Available within a couple of days of ordering no P&P !!
They come in primer ready to finish...a bargain compared to the secondhand market !!
