Went to replace the brake bomb tonight (83 633 US), and all went fairly well until it came time to reattach the upper (19 mm) flare fitting back into the regulator. I finally discerned that the thread is messed up just enough to prevent it getting started. I would much rather chase these threads than buy a whole new assembly (32411128162) for ~$100 and wait a couple of days (since this is my daily driver). Does anyone know the thread size on this so I can get the right die? I figure I only have one chance to rethread it, so I want to get it right!
Thanks,
Joel

The PN cited is available from BMW of Southatlanta for $84. Probably cheaper at Husker BMWJoelR wrote:The answer is M18x1.5. Also, the assembly is NLA from BMW.
I chased the threads, wiggled the regulator to a better location, and got the pipe reinserted.
Thanks!

I've tried ordering parts from BMW of Atlanta at lest 4 or 5 times, since they're fairly close to me. Never once have I received an "in stock" part, so I've learned a lesson and used other sources. Seems a very common problem these days, so I'm not necessarily singling them out.sansouci wrote:The PN cited is available from BMW of Southatlanta for $84. No worries. The one I've had the best luck with (and they'll call you if there are any issues) is http://www.mybimmerparts.com/, which is Passport BMW, a dealer in the D.C. area.
