List of labels/ decals Euro M635 CSi 1984

Post by miike87 »

Did anyone got a full list of all labels of the Euro/german M635 1984?
The previous owner repainted mine and onlya flow labels are left:
Tire warning on drivers door
Emergency wheel hint on trunk lid

A few positions I know so far:
color Code and Ihnitionwarning on the right damper dome
Original parety on the very lowest part of the hood, right part of the insulation free area.
Tire pressure over the drivers door lock
burn in advice on the windscreen but which side?

Thanks for the links but I'm also looking for the specific locations.
So where were the "do not disconnect battery, "engine coolant" etc placed?

Pukar has a huge database and helped me with my 635csi

While my car is not an M, what I did find out is that there is now fixed position for the labels. It comes down to who was on shift and how they were feeling lol

They are not always in a particular place from what I have researched. For instance, I have a very, from what I can tell, original 1987 M6 that doesn't have the high voltage sticker. I have seen the stickers on the hood opposite of those depicted here and my paint color sticker is above the emissions sticker. Though this of course may be different for a Euro car. And may be different year to year and from one assembler to the other.

The Lapis Blue car in my pictures is an '85 M635 .... so it is a "euro car".

The cruddy looking labels on the hood were in German before I replaced them with what I could get here in the states.

Very clean engine bay Ed. An inspiration for us all. The stickers are not inexpensive for what they are but, one of the small details that will add up with many other small details to result in a very detailed engine compartment.

My NA spec 1987 M6 does not have the high voltage warning??? It also does not have the three decals on the power steering pump that I have seen on other cars. Not sure what years came with what stickers. I also have an emissions sticker that the Euro cars wouldn't have.

As a follow up, the decals from the Ebay seller from Columbia are not a match for the factory decals on my 1987 M6. The paint code decal uses the wrong size font and the material it is printed on is not as thick as the OEM decal. Also, the "use genuine BMW parts" decal on the hood is a lot bigger than what is on my M6. The font looks off as well but, may not look as bad if it were the correct size.

On the other hand, the AC fill decal from puckard designs was spot on.

My "genuine parts" decal cleaned up OK but, if anyone knows where I can get the correct one please let me know. Same with the paint code label.

Maybe I'll see what Puckard offers...

I just finished cleaning up my hood, with new pads and washer hoses, and I've got most of the engine bay cleaned and waxed, so I'm ready for new decals. Looking at the Pukar site, I see he has two different paint code decals, and the small font one is for the E36 cars, but the other looks correct for our E24's. Also, he has several different Genuine Parts decals, and the A/C decals are available in several different fill capacities. So, looks like he's the source I'm going to use for the decals on my car.

I did find one more source, but the set for sale doesn't look correct for my car, and it's actually tough to tell from the small picture:

http://www.carclassic.biz/

US$70 + shipping, and I sent a message asking for better images of what's available for my car, but Pukar still looks better.

The two "incorrect" decals I got were not from Pukard... I have to say Pukard was a pleasure to work with getting the correct decal for my M6 with the rear AC unit. The decals on the site did not have the correct charge amount so I just sent him/them/you a picture and it was perfectly replicated. I know now to stick with puckard and to include the size of my stock decal when doing any ordering.

Please add the trunk decal as well if it isn't already on the site.

Curious about this trunk lid decal. Is that a phone number to call for emergency road service?

I sent him this decal some weeks ago from my '84 M635 for reproduction.
Hopefully I can a full set of decals to mine soon.

It's for emergency breakdown service. You call them and they'll sent the Servicemobil from the next BMW workshop. Onboard they got most tools and a portable diagnostics system nowadays.

Any idea when the pukardesigns site will be back up and running? I need to place an order for a proper size Genuine BMW parts decal for my M6. The one I got off EBay from Columbia was not even close to the correct size.

And any chance of reproducing the trunk decal?

Last response from Pukar was back in october for me.

There are some NOS? labels available in germany at wallothnesch but not the Service one and only the multi language spare parts one.

Is the "roadside service" one even appropriate for a US-market car?

And, which refrigerant capacity decal is appropriate for a Euro car w/o the additional rear a/c unit?

As it is only a local german phone number and the text is only reffering to local calls I'd say it's even Germany only.

No idea for refrigant the lack of an a/c in my M635. :P

I have a mint unused one of them for my car- if Kos needs it I can send it for him to copy- I did a similar thing for some now unobtainable Alpina wheel stickers last year IIRC.
2001 Alpina B10 V8 Touring (1 of 12 rhd)
1997 Alpina B12 5.7 L (1 of 2 rhd)
1995 Alpina B10 4.6 Touring (1 of 1 rhd)
1985 BMW M635CSi (1 of 524 rhd)
1982 BMW 635CSiA (1 of 100's left from the 1000's made and still valiantly fighting against a rusty grave)
