Review about swinging coupe is on it's way back! Tongue and cheek article. Sic the 635csi had all the cachet of Del Boy's reliant robin three wheeler?

Re: Octane magazine April 2016
The writer seems more concerned with prices - both new and recent - than anything else. Not a particularly interesting (or intelligent) piece IMO.
Did that LHD M635CSi sell in October? I thought I saw it advertised more recently

Thanx for posting this info, Ubercoupe.
The 635 pictured looks just like my Buster except that I have 16" Hartges.

Agreed Pod. Also seems to want to insult past, present, possible, and future e24 owners. Tongue in cheek is one thing but insults abound in this article. What is wrong with a "Classic mindset"?Pod wrote:The writer seems more concerned with prices - both new and recent - than anything else. Not a particularly interesting (or intelligent) piece IMO.
Slight mistake with stating that the e24 was 11K pounds more than the MBZ 450SLC as well.

Re: Octane magazine April 2016
I think we are being just a little harsh here. Surely a journalist writing a piece for the "Market/Buying" section of a classic car magazine is expected to focus on pricing?
I will agree there is some sloppy journalism here though. The reference to a Belgian Bonham's sale in October 2015, in a British article that (correctly) identifies the disparity between UK and Euro appreciation for E24s, has little relevance. A more suitable nod might have been towards the familiar £20k-£30k, 100k mile+ examples that languish unsold in the British classifieds.
BTW, I believe the £51k M635CSi sale referred to is this one.

My apologies, I didn't read the header and failed to realise it was a "Market/Buying" articleSoperman wrote:I think we are being just a little harsh here. Surely a journalist writing a piece for the "Market/Buying" section of a classic car magazine is expected to focus on pricing?
