Hi! New 1988 Highline member!
Hi all, after years of E30s and a lovely M535i I've been throwing money, blood, sweat and a few tears at this beast for a short while and I have to say thanks to a lot of posters on the forum who've helped iron out a few issues! Anyway, without further ado, here she is

I'm from Hastings originally. Lovely looking car. Why did you get rid of the H/L washers and wipers?

Re: Hi! New 1988 Highline member!
Ah, not far at all! And thanks, oh and because I think they look terrible and don't serve much purpose, I still have all the motors etc, they are pretty aged though, I've also removed the ridiculous hydraulic beam adjusters too and replaced with a traditional adjusting screw.. the thing I'm most impressed about is the chrome rings, five minutes with some autosol and they look great!ron wrote:I'm from Hastings originally. Re: Hi! New 1988 Highline member!
The headlight wipers on both my E24's have never worked but on both cars I have re-jigged the wiring to the headlight washer pump so that it comes on when the windscreen Intensive Wash pump is used; it might be worth a consideration while you're ripping out the wipers and their motors.

Re: Hi! New 1988 Highline member!
That's not a bad shout, I left the jets and pump wiring all in there so I might give it a go! My last E30 sporr was the only bmw I think I've ever owned where they actually worked.. I think they're a bit out in the elements and never really get looked after!sharkfan wrote:The headlight wipers on both my E24's have never worked but on both cars I have re-jigged the wiring to the headlight washer pump so that it comes on when the windscreen Intensive Wash pump is used; it might be worth a consideration while you're ripping out the wipers and their motors.

The car has presence. Looks great. I'm envious about it being your daily driver.

Thanks! Aaah yes I'm sure there's a yard somewhere under that snow! (I'm a bit jealous.. it just rains here) I've actually given up this week and put her away for a couple of months.. it's just too grotty out and she's just not the car for that realistically.. plus it gives me time to relax and do all the jobs that need doing for spring

What a lovely looking 6er.
You were saying it runs rich.
At idle?
Or the whole way through.
There are a few adjustment tricks u can perform on the airflow meter.
The adjustments are best performed with the aid of an airflow mixture gauge/ wideband sensor.
