Cheap gasoline..

Post by brickwhite »

Haven't seen gas prices like this in a couple years... One perk of living in the middle of the US

Image

That's Per Gallon

Now I know why Ford and Chevy sell so many Trucks and SUVs in the US.

Wow! Wished I could buy for those prices. Although cost has recently reduced, by about 10%, the best I’ve seen for unleaded is £1.199 per litre. By my calculations that’s $1.53/litre or $5.79/USGallon☹️

It’s about as cheap as it has been for a few years here in MELBOURNE Australia.

I can get gas here in northwestern Ontario, Canada for as low as $0.95 a litre. That's about $2.70 US for 1 US gallon.

We pay that plus per LITRE for petrol (has fallen about 30c in the last few weeks), after an all time high. Diesel is cheaper but then we have to buy roas user charges. I think we're the most expensive market in the OECD - roughly 50% tax .

I remember when I first started driving - was like 50c per gallon (obviously before metrication)

Shell Optimax £1.29 a litre in my bit of the UK, plus it is now labeled as 99RON. The M certainly seemed to like it on trip down to see different sort of Ron last weekend!

My son raised an interesting point as we filled his Seat Arosa up (he's learning to drive in it) and asked how many miles £30 of petrol would take him - about 250 being the answer. I picked him up later that day in the M and he asked the same question - about £85 to fill up and does about 250 miles too. He couldn't understand the difference in driving those miles - much paternal disappointment here!

gas -by which I mean LPG rather than petrol, being in the UK- costs about £0.60/litre at present. This means £30 takes me 200-250 miles in my LPG-fuelled E24.

cheers

No LPG cars in the USA. Or very very rare that someone imported or created. I think warehouse forklifts may run on LPG, maybe a lawmower.

You have Gasoline or Diesel.

In the rural US where I live there are no emissions inspections either.

Only a safety inspection every two year to make sure your signals and headlights work, no emissions and it costs $12 for the inspection.

When I filled up a week ago, it was $2.24/gallon for no-ethanol 91. Prices have been dropping like a rock for the past month. Mercifully, too, since I have another 900 mile trip coming up in just over a week

In NY, if the car is over 25, no emission inspections.

In AZ no smog in rural areas or if you have classic car insurance. Works for me as I pulled every bit of it out during resto. For guys who have been following me for the past 9 years, as of last week it is running. I will do a you tube and post it in the next few weeks. Between the 284 cam and Billy Boat exhaust system she sounds plain nasty!!!

Over $3 for premium here in Washington and Oregon, more often in the $3.25-3.65 range. You have super cheap gas.
