Well, my Compressor had a very slow leak, but it was hard to tell where because of a previous owners valve cover leak.
The compressor was covered in oil and dirt, probably from many years of that leaking gasket.
So I decided to get this done before Summer.
I spent a lot of hours trying to clean up the oil leak mess under the motor, from below.
After clean up and disassembly, I had all of the steel parts re-plated Yellow Zinc, the same ones that BMW did.
I also ordered some new Labels from Kos in the U.K. third photo. The 4 labels add $30.00 to your rebuild.
I am going to offer these new labels to my Clients when I do their A/C Rebuild.
And I can also offer my clients, to do their yellow zinc plating, during their pump rebuild.
I put even more photos on my A/C Website, starting on page 63

I am going to install the Compressor back into the m6 starting tomorrow.
Best,

Looks fantastic - very nice work. Just rebuilding the a/c on my M6, very much a learning experience for me.

Thanks, Bobo,
The oil came from a Valve cover leak (probably 5-10 years) worth, from a previous owner.
I have cleaned up an ATF leak also from the old return hoses leaking on the other side of the engine a few years ago.
I have spent many hours cleaning the engine area from above. This is the first time cleaning from below.
Notice the original yellow zinc color of the compressor, when the label was removed.
Best,
Jay

Re: I just finished rebuilding my A/C Compressor on my m6
I'm just about to 'deal' with my compressor - it's in good external condition - maybe a replacement (though the car has only done 52k miles). Two sections of pipe and the adjoining dryer were missing when I got the car - could have been like that for a while - consequently I'm really concerned about debris in the system an have taken it all apart to flush through and ordered various new items where possible.
I emptied the oil from the compressor - only 25ml came out - how much should there be? Is there any way I can tell if the compressor is okay or do I need to rebuild this unit (or pay someone to)? I'm told it will be okay for r134a...?
Thanks for your help in advance!
The oil was at least clean apart from fragments of the filter mesh.
