Forgot to mention suspension it stock.
Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
May be a tough fit on the front, I'm not sure. You will rub at full lock and the tires will be stretched, but 225/45/17 should be your best bet.

Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
That sounds right. I just did a search on Tire Rack as per car type, and that's what it came back with for 17 inch. I currently have 16"'s and they rub slightly at full lock. So, I think i can expect a bit of rubbing as you suggested. Thanks.
Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
The front 8.5 sounds to me wide, and may rub the front panels due ET13. i am using 17" 8J ET20 with 235/45 (i even felt like the 225 too stretched with 8J), and my 8J setup sometimes slightly touches the inner parts of the stock suspension at full lock.

Paul,
On my '85 (U.S. version, lowered ~ 1.5"), I have BBS RS198s which are the same size and have the same offset as yours. I've been using 245/40 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires with no interference anywhere in normal or spirited driving. Not sure about "full-lock" interference as I don't know if I've ever tested them that way. However I do feel these tires are just a bit too wide and too low-profile, so I plan to eventually replace them with something in size 235/45.

Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
thanks for the feedback guys. Currently, i have 205, 55 R16's. I was hoping to go wider, which i think the general concensus is 235-245 max. I'm wondering what my tallest profile could be, ie could i do 50 or is that pushing it considering that i'm stepping up in radial size from 16 to 17. Looking for more 'cushion'. Hope that makes sense.
Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
Do the 245's stick out of the wheel well?
Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
Rear won't be a problem, even with wide tires.

Thanks for your help guys. i put the wheels on over the weekend and they fit nicely. i need to swap out the grease caps on the front wheels so i can install the inserts, but otherwise the fit is very good.

very slight rub on the front when turning at full circle, if i go slow it doesn't appear to rub.

Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
If you wanted more cushion why did you go 40 ratio?
I have RC090's Michelin PSS 235 x45x17.
I'm also lowered and looking for more cushion.
I was thinking going to 225 x 50 x 17.
Also I'm thinking Ultra High Performance All-Season to replace
Max Performance Summer. I sometimes take the car out when it's
below 45 degrees and the tires do lose grip and I just found some cracking
in between the ribs. The Max Performance Summer don't like temps below 50.
I also take some long distance drives to shows etc.
I only do 2 or 3 track days a year so I think I'll give up a coupe of seconds a lap
in favor of more comfort the rest of the time.

Re: 17" Tire Suggestions for e-24 Euro
I have staggered 17" AC Schnitzer wheels wearing B F Goodrich g-Force Comp A/S, front is 235 45 ZR17 and back are 255 40 ZR17.
Car rides very nice with no rub any where on wheel arches or inside while going straight or turning. May not be the best tires out there but for a garage queen is plenty good.
