So, now that the car is all back together again and the weather certainly won't require the a/c to be used for cooling, it raises the question of how to use the a/c for defogging. After reading the owners manual, yes I did dig it out and read it, it doesn't mention the a/c at all for clearing the windows in cold and wet situations.

So, what do people do. I understand the heater only sends air to the windscreen and floor with the outside and a/c air only to the dash vents. I'm guessing for defogging, I get the heater warmed up then chill the cabin with cold air, but only if the heater control is below 24deg because the compressor won't kick in if its set any higher. Am I correct or is there another option available other than wiping the windows with a rag.

Hi - align the levers per the symbol on the dash (all to the left from memory) and switch the AC on and let it do its dehumidifcation thing. Works perfectly for me. Cheers Julian
